90 Day Read Through the Bible – Day 5

May 7, 2018

Hello sweet friends,
Today’s Reading … Genesis 16-26

Our first theme, “Trust Me” is overwhelming in the story of Abraham and Issac.

Abram and Sarai first have to trust God to provide a son to them in their old age. (I have to admit that I relate all to easily to Sarai’s laughter at the seemingly impossible promises of God.) God is faithful to His word and builds the faith of Abraham and Sarah as they learn more of His character.  And then, God asks Abraham to lay this precious gift on the altar as a sacrifice.

Genesis 22:8 says, “Abraham answered, ‘God himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering, my son.’  And the two of them went on together.”

My heart’s desire is to live a life filled with this kind of faith..the “God will provide” kind of trust that radiates to all those walking with me. As we journey through God’s Word, I pray that our trust in Him will be bolstered by His repeated faithfulness to us.

Love to you all,

Kinsee

“so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return empty, but accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it”(Isaiah 55:11).
