Hello Sweet friends,
Today’s Reading … Matthew 15-18, Mark 7-9, Luke 9:18-62 and John 7-8
“So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, ‘If you continue in my Word, then you are truly disciples of Mine, and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free” (John 8:31-32).What encouragement!
Today, I would like to press pause and celebrate your commitment and God’s faithfulness throughout this summer reading series. We have been reading God’s Word together for over 70 days and I do not want us to miss all that God has revealed, taught and changed in our hearts and lives. It is a day to reflect on the promise and blessing that is found in John 8:
You believed Him. – You believed that Jesus would equip you to read His Word this summer. You believed that He would multiply your time, your motivation and your understanding. You believed that the dates on the paper mattered less than spending time with the Lord and you believed that He would meet you each day right where you are. You believed that His Word would not return void, but would accomplish the purpose for which He sent it.
You continued in His Word. – Everyday, you picked up your Bible. You wandered in the wilderness, you trudged through the Laws of the Old Testament, you agonized over the rise and fall of the nation of Israel, you marveled at the prophets and the fulfillment of their words. And now, you are celebrating Christ, God’s greatest gift to you. You continued in His Word.
You are truly disciple of Jesus. – Through this journey you have been students, followers and imitators of our Lord Jesus Christ. You have anticipated what the Holy Spirit would teach you each day. You have spent time in prayer and wrestled with the ways of God that exceed our understanding. You have grown closer to our Lord with each Word that you have used to fill your heart and your mind.
You know the Truth. – The only way to know the Truth is to be exposed to it. The Truth is the Word of God. The Truth is God. The Truth is Jesus Christ. The Truth is the Holy Spirit. Throughout these weeks, your intimacy with the Truth has grown exponentially. By dedicating time to read the Bible, to pray over its message and to commit your life to living it out, the Truth becomes the air that you breathe.
You are set free! – You have the knowledge of the Word of God, a relationship with Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit to set you free from the bondage of Satan’s lies and your sinful flesh. Jesus is victorious and so are you! As you live and breathe and move in Him you will continue to grow in your awareness of the freedom that He gives to you.
God has been faithful to His promise as you have been faithful to your commitment. Keep going sweet friends…the blessings are only beginning!!
Love you all,
Kinsee
