90 Day Read Through the Bible – Day 10

May 12, 2018

Hello Sweet Friends,
Today’s Reading … Exodus 22-32

The building of the Tabernacle is not simply the blueprint for an historical artifact, it contains the blueprint of history.

Within the instructions for building the tabernacle, we discover tiny clues  pointing to God’s plan for humankind, a plan for redemption. This beautiful plan is the foundation on which God call to His people, “Trust Me.”

“Make the tabernacle with ten curtains of finely twisted linen and blue, purple and scarlet yarn, with cherubim woven into them by a skilled worker”(Exodus 26:1).  The cherubim in this design were meant to depict images of these heavenly beings, who had made only one other appearance in the Old Testament: the Garden of Eden.  In Genesis 3:24, cherubim were stationed outside the garden to prevent people from re-entering it.  The Garden of Eden was the last time when God and humans dwelt together. Because of sin, that intimacy and fellowship was disrupted.  But God had a plan to repair it and the Tabernacle was part of that plan.  By including cherubim in His design for the tabernacle, God was hinting in a particular direction.  He was, in short, reversing the fall.  He was restoring our broken relationship, and allowing us to enter His presence once again.

The tabernacle was pointing to the Temple, and the Temple was pointing to Jesus, who would eventually come and “tabernacle” among us (She Reads Truth/Lent Study).

The plan is perfect, it is ever unfolding. It is a plan by a faithful God who calls out to us, “Trust Me.”

Love to you all,

Kinsee

“so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return empty, but accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it”(Isaiah 55:11).
