Hello Sweet Friends,
Today’s Reading … Exodus 10-21
“‘The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.’ Then the Lord said to Moses, ‘Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on'”(Exodus 14:14-15).
Did reading these verses make anyone else a little dizzy? Be still…move on? I had to stop and pray through this a little bit. As I sought the Lord, I felt Him teaching me that “still” is not necessarily a physical command. Be still my heart. Be still my soul. Be still my mind. It is only when the power of the Holy Spirit quiets my emotions and fears that I can have the courage to dip my toe into the Red Sea.
When we lean into the faithful character of God, when we allow Him to make our souls still and when we trust Him enough to cross the Red Seas of our lives, we find ourselves overwhelmed with gratitude for His goodness. It is then that we sing out, as did Moses and Miriam:
“The Lord is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation. He is my god, and I will praise Him, my father’s God, and I will exalt him. “The Lord is a warrior; the Lord is his name”(Exodus 15:2-3).
Love to you all,
Kinsee
“so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return empty, but accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it”(Isaiah 55:11).
