Hello friends,
Today’s Reading … Job 6-20
What a start to our 90 days!! I know you must be ready to see what you are reading for the rest of the 89 days so here it is…. the 90 Day Reading Plan!
We are jumping right into the toughest questions involving human suffering and God’s goodness to His children. I am so inspired by Job’s response to his unimaginable trials:
“I know that my Redeemer lives, and that in the end He will stand on the earth. And after my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh I will see God; I myself will see him with my own eyes-I and not another. How my heart yearns within me.” Job 19:25-27
Job keeps his focus, not on his circumstances, but on his faithful God. This perspective changes everything when facing adversity. When our eyes are on God we can praise Him in our adversity. Not FOR our adversity, but IN our adversity. He is faithful and He can be trusted regardless of our current circumstances.
In contrast, Job’s friends model the mistaken concept of God’s character that so many of us believe.
Job’s wife told him to walk away from God.
Eliphaz and Zophar accused Job of bringing the suffering through his own sin
Elihu offered the wisest council, encouraging Job to look up and trust God. However, he still did not understand the fullness of God’s power, wisdom and grace.
I pray that the Lord will give us Job’s kind of faith. I pray that He will bind Satan’s subtle lies that distort His character in the heart’s of his children. I pray that we will trust God, not because of our present circumstances, but because our ultimate victory is in the hands of our good and gracious Heavenly Father.
Love to you all,
Kinsee
