Hello Sweet friends,
Today’s Reading … 1 Corinthians 5-16
Paul’s first letter to the Christians at Corinth discusses divisions at the church and the mishandling of the work, gifts and power of the Holy Spirit they had received. Paul addresses the Corinthian church concerning the significance of their new life in Christ, which should be demonstrated within the church through working for unity in worship gatherings, in exercising the gifts of the Holy Spirit, and not neglecting the poor in the Lord’s Supper. The name “Lord” is very prominent in 1 Corinthians. This is significant because much of the confusion that had crept into the church at Corinth had come because the believers failed to recognize Jesus Christ as Lord. In Romans, Paul told us that it was by Christ, “we have gained access by faith into this grace which we now stand” (Romans 5:2). Now in 1 Corinthians, Paul deals with Christian conduct and the riches of grace in Christ Jesus, our all in all (What the Bible is All About).
Our theme; The Church-A New Mission is presented to us quite clearly in this letter. In this early church, we see so much of our modern day church. We are easily distracted by quarrels, different worship preferences, jealousy, insecurity and selfishness within the body of Christ. These sins of our flesh keep us from fulfilling the mission that He has given to each of us individually and to the church as a whole. When we take our eyes off of Jesus, when we claim Him as our Savior but fail to make Him the Lord of our lives, we are unable to live the life that He has called us to live. A life that glorifies our good and gracious God. Today, let’s take time to re-establish our commitment to our mission, our commitment to our Lord.
“‘I have a right to do anything,’ you say-but everything is not beneficial. ‘I have the right to do anything’-but I will not be mastered by anything” (1 Corinthians 6:12).
I am on a mission from the Lord, I will honor Him with my life.
“Be careful, however, that the exercise of your rights does not become a stumbling block to the weak” (1 Corinthians 8:9).

“So whatever you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it for the glory of God” (1 Corinthians 10:31).
I am on a mission from the Lord, I will honor Him with my life.
“Follow my example as I follow the example of Christ” (1 Corinthians 11:1).

“So what shall I do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my understanding; I will sing with my spirit, but I will also sing with my understanding” (1 Corinthians 14:15).
I am on a mission from the Lord, I will honor Him with my life.
“Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves to the work of the Lord because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain” (1 Corinthians 15:58).
I am on a mission from the Lord, I will honor Him with my life.
Love you all,
Kinsee
