Hello Sweet Friends,
Today’s Reading … Nehemiah 11-13, Psalm 126. Malachi 1-4, Luke 1- 2:38, John 1:1-14 and Matthew 1
Today is so exciting!!!
We have heard God’s call, “Trust Me.”
We have been urged, “Don’t Give Up.”
We have experienced grace upon grace as God says, “Stop Running and Return to Me.”
We have learned what it means to, “Keep God First”
Through it all, we have been “Facing Adversity” and navigating through it with our faithful God.
And now, as we read the book of Malachi we hear, “I will send my messenger, who will prepare the way before me. Then suddenly the Lord you are seeking will come to His temple; the messenger of the covenant, whom you desire, will come, says the Lord Almighty” (Malachi 3:1). John the Baptist and Jesus!!! God’s redemptive plan from the time of creation is coming into view. Praise the Lord!!!
Malachi is the final prophet to be recorded before the 400 years of silence between the Old and New Testaments.
And then…”This is the genealogy of Jesus the Messiah the son of David, the son of Abraham” (Matthew 1:1). He is here!! I cannot stop grinning, happy tears streaming down my checks. I can clearly understand the host of angels singing and the entire universe celebrating the arrival of the Promised One.
Thank you Lord for coming to rescue and redeem us. We are overwhelmed with gratitude. Amen.
I am so thrilled that we are meeting together tonight! Please come and join us at 6:30 pm in Student Center South at Johnson Ferry Baptist Church, as we discuss the books of the Old Testament from the time of David all the way through Malachi. We will also prepare our hearts to receive the beauty of the New Testament with Christ and the Ultimate Gift to us all.
And don’t forget that each of our themes from the reading has a printable to help remind us of what we have been reading! Here is our newest one… “Keep God First”!
See you tonight!
