Hello Sweet Friends,
Today’s Reading … Ezekiel 28-39
The phrase, “they shall know that I am the Lord” appears 24 times in the book of Ezekiel.
As believers, we acknowledge with our minds that there is only One true God, He is the Lord. We confess with our mouths our need for Him, He is the Lord. Often times we even reflect in our behavior our desire to please Him, He is the Lord. That is all critical to our faith, to “Keeping God First.”
In my own life, I have been convicted by this powerful statement. The Holy Spirit has lead me to go deeper than just my mind, mouth and behavior. I began to wonder about the state of my heart in relation to this statement repeated so often in the book of Ezekiel. If my heart accepted and trusted completely that He is the Lord, what would that change in my life?
Lord, I don’t understand…”I am the Lord.”
Lord, I don’t want to…”I am the Lord.”
Lord, I am afraid…”I am the Lord.”
Lord, I am anxious…”I am the Lord.”
Lord, I need to know…”I am the Lord.”
Lord, why…”I am the Lord.”
Lord, it hurts…”I am the Lord.”
Lord, they disappointed me…”I am the Lord.”
Lord, I disappointed them…”I am the Lord.”
Lord, I can’t…”I am the Lord.”
Lord, I failed you, again…”I am the Lord.”
The answer, if my heart can accept that He is the Lord, it changes everything. There is no situation in which that response is not totally sufficient. I don’t have to understand, I don’t have to be perfect, I can cry out to Him, I can run to Him. He is the Lord and He is sufficient.
He is the Lord, that is all I need. He is the Lord, that is all we need. He is the Lord, that is ultimate peace.
Lord, please allow us to be aware today and everyday that You are the Lord. you are perfect, you are sovereign, you are gracious and faithful. You are the Lord and that is all that we need to know. Thank you. Amen.
Love you all,
Kinsee
