Hello Sweet Friends,
Today’s Reading … Isaiah 28-39 and Psalm 76
Isaiah, a powerful and faithful prophet, calling out to Judah to keep God first. He balanced the warnings of judgment with the promise of redemption. Isaiah told of the ultimate redemption that would come through Jesus Christ.
The secret of all of Isaiah’s power lay in the vision that the Lord used to call him and in his obedient response to the call.
1. Conviction – Isaiah 6:5
2. Confession – Isaiah 6:5
3. Cleansing – Isaiah 6:7
4. Consecration – Isaiah 6:8
5. Commission – Isiah 6:8
(What the Bible is All About)
Let’s take a minute to walk through this process:
“’Then I said, Woe to me, for I am ruined! Because I am a man of unclean lips, And I live among a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts’”(Isaiah 6:5).
Here we see the conviction and confession of Isaiah. The Lord makes him aware of his sinful nature and he accepts this as reality. He then turns and confesses to God that he knows this is truth. The same process is necessary for us each day. We are broken and sinful. We must, through prayer, allow the Holy Spirit to show us where we are in need of healing. Then, we can confess this brokenness and need to God.
“He touched my mouth with it and said, ‘Behold, this has touched your lips; and your iniquity is taken away and your sin is forgiven’”(Isaiah 6:7).
It is the Lord, not Isaiah, who provided his soul with supernatural healing that prepared him to do the service of the Lord. He will be faithful to do the same for His children today. Conviction that leads to confession will allow supernatural cleansing in our lives. In all of this God is consecrating our spirits. That is, dedicating our lives to His service. This is our ultimate calling and purpose in life.
“Then I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, ‘Whom shall I send and who will go for us?’ Then I said, ‘Here am I. Send me!’”(Isaiah 6:8).
Isaiah is overwhelmed by the presence, power and grace of God. There is only one answer to God’s question, “Whom shall I send?” Isaiah cannot wait to say, “Yes Lord! Send Me!” This response is not coming from obligation but from awe and gratitude. When God has touched our lives, we are changed and overwhelmed. The only answer to this gratitude is to commit our lives to serving Him and telling others about our awesome God.
The call to Isaiah is the same call to us. We are all sinners (conviction). When we confess that to God, he makes us clean and gives us the unique gift of serving Him (confession, cleansing, consecration). The only response to this amazing gift is to spend our lives telling of His grace and glory (commission).
What are we waiting for? Let’s go!!
Love you all,
Kinsee
“so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return empty, but accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it”(Isaiah 55:11).
