Hello Sweet friends,
Today’s Reading … 1 Kings 7-8, 2 Chronicles 4-7, Psalm 136, 134 and 146-150
I was overwhelmed today as I read God’s Word literally calling out to His people, “Stop running and return to Me!”
In 1 Kings 8 and again in 2 Chronicles 6, Solomon prays:
“If your people…have sinned against You, and they return to You and confess your name, and pray and make supplication before You…then hear from heaven and forgive the sin of Your people…and bring them back to (You).”
In 2 Chronicles 7, God replies to Solomon:
“If…My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and heal (them).”
Amen and Thank you Lord!!! That precious promise is still ours today. Have you run form God in any area of your life? Even if nothing jumps into your mind, take time to stop and ask the Lord to reveal to you any areas of your heart that are in contradiction to His calling on your life. Ask Him to reveal to you what you are chasing after. He will honor your humility and tenderly show you where the brokenness is in your heart. “then hear in heaven, Your dwelling place, and forgive and act and render to each according to his own ways, whose heart You know, for You alone know the hearts of all the sons of men”(1 Kings 8:39). We do not know our own hearts, God does.
Next, return to Him! Change direction in any area where of your heart and mind where you are chasing after the fleeting things in this life and run to the eternal promises of God. Seek His face and he will hear, forgive and heal your heart. Did you notice how little of this process is dependent on us?
1. We pray and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal the brokenness in Your heart.
2. God hears.
3. We seek for the strength and wisdom of the Holy Spirit to change direction and run towards God.
4. God forgives.
5. We rest in the gracious presence of our faithful God.
6. God heals.
In the power of the Holy Spirit, we pray, seek and rest. That is all, God does the rest. He never fails to hear, forgive or heal those who call on Him.
He is calling to you, “Stop Running and Return to Me.” Will you heed His call today?
Love you all,
Kinsee
