Today’s Reading … Job 21-34
In times of suffering, we try to understand, to make sense of it all…the tough news, we can’t.
We lack the true wisdom needed to interpret the ways of God. In Job 28 we read, “But where can wisdom be found? Where does understanding dwell? No mortal comprehends its worth; it cannot be found in the land of the living…It cannot be bought with the finest gold, nor can its price be weighed out in silver.” Job 28 12-13, 15.
The hopeful news, our God who is infinitely wise and just is “working all things together for the good of those who love Him and have been called according to His purpose”(Romans 8:28). Might I suggest, that we stop wasting much needed mental energy on trying to understand and instead rest in the promise of God’s wisdom and ultimate protection in our lives? In short, that we respond to His call, “Trust Me.”
Trust in God does not mean, however, that He does not expect us to experience frustration, anger and sadness. Job,”tore his robe” in grief. It was in his honest communication that Job found God and came to know Him in a more intimate way. We are called to do the same. God does not expect perfection from us, He does desire a relationship based on mutual trust and communication. It is through Jesus, and the relationship that He enables us to have with our Heavenly Father that we are able to trust His goodness in all situations.
Love to you all,
Kinsee
